Revision, Revision, Revision!
Morning All! I haven't been posting lately. I'm hip deep in a revision of Firey Strength. Taking 14 months to write, some things are different from the beginning of the book than the end. Small things, but still necessary to change for a seamless story. Size is another issue. Most publishers like around 100,000 words. Fortunately, Wings ePress, allows up to 150,000. The finished story was 153,000. I have to edit out a bunch, which should raise the suspense and tensions because I'll cut the boring parts first!
I'm hoping to get the first round of edits before school starts next week, but we'll see. I'm going to have to do another edit anyway for words and sentence structure. Not that I'm not going to do that this time through too. I really have to laugh though, some of what I'm editing, I LIKED when I wrote it. I thought it sounded wonderful. Now I wonder what I was thinking! LOL A friend of mine says it's a sign of growth. I hope so. I certainly have a lot to learn about writing.
I love writing even when it's hard.
I'm working on five projects at once. Editing Firey Strength, finishing the rough draft of Castle's Hero, started an new project called (for now) Shaken, finishing the first draft of A New Beginning, (A story I stopped writing a few years ago),and toying with Brave Season (fourth book in the paranormal series).
I have never failed to finish a story I've started. A New Beginning has always been there waiting, for me to get off my butt and finish. I will. I still like the story, which is more than I can say about Fiery Strength some times. LOL
Guess that's all for now.
Lori
